Welcome to BeFriends, a wellness platform developed and owned by Hazhteq Innovations Pvt Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the BeFriends mobile and web application (“App”), including any features, services, tools, content, and products provided therein. By accessing or using BeFriends, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use BeFriends. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

While BeFriends offers emotional guidance and self-help tools, it is not a substitute for clinical diagnosis or emergency medical care.

3. User Responsibilities

No illegal or unauthorized use
No harmful, offensive, or misleading content
No exploitation, harm, or impersonation
No bypassing security or unauthorized data access

We reserve the right to terminate your access at any time if you violate these Terms.

4. User Data & Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. You consent to the use of your anonymized emotional data for platform improvement and AI training unless you opt out.

5. AI Companion (Kozy), Virtual Friend & Smart Features

Kozy, our AI-based companion, offers emotional check-ins and guidance based on your interactions and history. Kozy is not a human, and while it adapts based on your emotional state, it does not offer medical advice.
Similarly, features like the Smart Diary, Personality Assessment, and Mood Engine are informational tools only.

6. Therapist & Listener Interactions

Therapists & Experts:

RCI-licensed, appointments facilitated, not responsible for quality/outcome

Listeners:

Trained, supervised, peer-level support, not professional advice, sessions may be monitored

7. Purchases, Refunds, and Subscriptions

Store products non-returnable unless incorrect/damaged
Digital products non-refundable once purchased
Payments processed via Razorpay; no card/bank info stored

8. Content & Intellectual Property

All content, designs, illustrations, and features in the App, including the mascot Kozy, are the intellectual property of Hazhteq Innovations Pvt Ltd. Users may not reproduce, distribute, or misuse this content without prior written permission.

9. Limitation of Liability

BeFriends is a wellness and lifestyle support app, not a medical service. No guarantees about emotional outcomes. Hazhteq Innovations Pvt Ltd and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

10. Future Community Sharing (Beta)

Respectful and supportive language required
Moderation and removal of posts violating guidelines

11. Termination of Use

Account may be suspended/terminated for violations, unauthorized access, or legal requirements
Users may delete account and request data erasure via app

12. Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, jurisdiction in Gujarat. Disputes resolved by mediation, then arbitration if needed.

13. Amendments to These Terms

Terms may be updated; users notified in-app or via email. Continued use implies acceptance.
